The Barbados YouthADVANCE Corps (BYAC) is accepting applications for its September 21, 2021 and January 2022 intakes.

BYAC falls under the Division of Youth Affairs in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment.  It is a two-year programme for young people aged 16 to 20 years old.

The first year includes a six week residential programme which exposes participants to discipline, citizenship and civic education, self-esteem building, etiquette and personal development courses.  It also includes a technical and vocational training component.

Year two of the programme focuses on work experience, including job attachments, apprenticeships and internships, as well as participation in community service and national projects.

Interested persons may collect application forms from the BYAC’s headquarters at Warrens, St. Michael. Completed application forms must be returned to the Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment, Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael or BYAC’s headquarters.
