Parents, teachers and educational providers seeking to enhance their reading skills and understand the teaching of literature in schools are being encouraged to attend the one-day workshop of the Barbados Association of Reading (BAR) this Saturday, February 21.
It will be held at the City of Bridgetown Credit Union Conference Room, Broad Street, Bridgetown, from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
The key focus will be on the teaching of literature in secondary schools and will utilise writing by Caribbean authors. The workshop will also share literature, teaching strategies and activities with participants.
Teacher trainer, Samuel Soyer, and BAR???s President and Tutor at the Erdiston Teachers’ Training College, Sharon Warner, will be the main facilitators for the sessions.
