Persons entering colleges and universities in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States, during the academic year 2010-2011, will soon have the opportunity to receive information aimed at making their transition easier.

This will occur when the Barbados Community College’s (BCC) Counselling and Placement Centre hosts its annual Pre-Departure Orientation on Friday, July 16, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the College’s Liberal Arts Auditorium.

Personnel from the British High Commission and the Embassy of the United States will be in attendance to discuss topics such as visa procedures and legal issues relevant to each country. Other areas to be covered include cultural differences and adaptation, as well as health and safety concerns.

Graduates and students currently studying overseas will also be on hand to share their experiences with freshers.
