The Barbados Coalition of Service Industries Inc. (BSCI) will host Its Annual Flagship Event – Services Weekend Barbados 2018 (SWB) from tomorrow Friday, November 16, to Saturday November 17.

As part of the weekend of activities, the Secretariat will host its BimTech Digital Forum tomorrow, Friday November 16, at Sweetfield Manor, Brittons Ridge, St. Michael.

It will comprise a panel discussion from 10:00 a.m. to noon on: Promoting Digital Technologies As A Driver For Economic Growth and Stability.

Panellists include Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Ryan Straughn; Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BIT, Senator Rawdon Adams; Attorney-at-Law, Raphael Saul and Chief Executive Officer of LCI Consulting, Philip Lewis.

There will also be a series of ‘Power Chats’ from 10:00 a.m., including How To Use Technology To Scale Your Business; Digital Marketing: How To Increase The Visibility of Your Service and Going Online: A Look At Cyber Security. These will be facilitated by President of the Internet Society (Barbados Chapter), Roger Hennis; CEO of AZED Media, Alicia Griffith and Managing Director of SIFT Inc., Francois Griffith, respectively.

The following day, Saturday, November 17, will feature a health and wellness expo at the Bay Street Esplanade from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Under the theme: Fit to Serve, it will showcase the contribution of health and wellness service providers, including nutritionists, fitness experts and physiotherapists. There will also be free testing from the Diabetes Association of Barbados, complimentary massages, product sampling, yoga sessions, a fitness party and a self defence class.

Services Weekend Barbados 2018 will culminate with the Firefly cultural showcase and pop-up shop in the evening from 6:00 until 11:00 p.m., at the Mount Gay Visitor’s Centre, Spring Garden Highway, St. Michael.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the free event, which is a developmental initiative designed to provide a platform for entrepreneurs within the creative sector. Firefly will feature live performances, visual arts and fashion and design from Barbadians and regional cultural practitioners. Among those to be highlighted are: Chad Montplaisir; Sonny Meraki, PM Splash; Jemilah Wood; Highclass The Brand; Seven Summers and Satadaze.
