The Barbados Defence Force (BDF) will continue its 30th anniversary celebrations with a number of events next week.??

The activities will commence with a church parade on Sunday, August 9, at the St. Matthias Anglican Church at 10:00 a.m.

The following day, Monday, August 10, members of the BDF will display their athletic prowess at the Land Sports Day. This event is scheduled to take place at Paragon Base, Christ Church, and will include seven-a-side football, road tennis, six-a-side cricket, volleyball, and athletics.

??From 7:00 p.m. to midnight on Tuesday, August 11, members of the public are invited to a movie night featuring comedy, action and romantic films. Food and drink will also be on sale.

Members of the BDF participating in the Beach Sports Day will head to the Brandons Beach for volleyball, triathlon, rowing, stumbling relay race, kayaking and beach football on Wednesday, August 12, at 9:00 a.m.??

The activities will continue at St. Ann’s Fort, The Garrison, on Thursday, August 13, with an open mic/amateur talent/karaoke night for the public. The session will commence at 8:00 p.m. and will include poetry, song, music, skit and karaoke. Participation will be on a first come, first served basis.

The week’s celebrations will culminate with a parade on Saturday, August 15, at Queen’s Park, Constitution Road, at 4:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend and should be seated by 4:00 p.m.
