The Barbados Defence Force’s (BDF) HIV/AIDS Programme will host a health fair on Saturday, August 28???? at St. Ann’s Fort, The Garrison, St. Michael, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Under the theme "A Healthy Body, a Healthy Mind, for a Healthier Barbados", it is part of the BDF’s ongoing efforts to inform, educate and empower its members and the public to adopt healthier lifestyles and behaviours.
There will be screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, breast and prostrate cancer and HIV. ??Information on food and nutrition, health programmes and services and demonstrations on aerobics, self defence, dance and make-up application will also be available to the public.
Patrons can also make a donation in support of the HIV/AIDS Food Bank, orphans and other vulnerable persons infected and affected by HIV. Activities for children will include lucky dips, jumping tents, face painting and sports.
A variety of health foods and drinks will be available. Entertainment will be provided by the BDF and there is no admission fee.??clashley@barbados.gov.bb
