Four officers of the Barbados Cadet Corps (BCC) will travel to Canada this Sunday, November 29, for a week-long cadet seminar in Rigaud, Quebec.

The officers have been specially invited to attend the seminar because of the strengthening bond between the local cadet corps and the directorate of cadets in Canada.????

Chief Executive Officer of the BCC, Major Patrick Skeete, along with Majors Peter Powlett, David Clarke and Delisle Bascombe, will join some 140 senior Canadian officers for training in several areas. These will include sessions on:?? "The challenges of Youth Leadership Today"; "Leading People"; "Coaching Trainees for Performance"; and "Trainee Assessment and the Instructor’s Role".

The activities will also include visits to bases to see cadets and officers in training, and briefings in a number of areas such as the Canadian Sea Cadet Programme and the Canadian Army Cadet Programme.

In addition, the BCC officers will have an opportunity to share their local experiences with their Canadian counterparts.????

The contingent will return home on Monday, December 7.
