The Barbados Drug Service, in collaboration with the Hope Foundation, will host its next lecture on Tuesday, June 15, on the issue of "Pain Management".

It will be delivered by Pain Medicine Specialist, Dr. George Drakes, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael, from 7:00 p.m.

Following the lecture, there will be a panel discussion on "Social and Ethical Issues in Sickle Cell Anaemia". ??Dr. Cheryl Alexis will speak on the "Health Perspective of Early Screening", while Dr. Allyson Mayers will address "Ethics & Use of Genetic Information". The perspective of the Health Insurance industry will be presented by?? Orwyn Sandiford of Sagicor.

Prior to the session, from 6:30 until 7:00 p.m., the public will be allowed to view displays, have free blood glucose and blood pressure screening and discuss therapies used in sickle cell anaemia.

Bus transportation will be provided after the lecture, to the Fairchild Street Bus Terminal.??jgill@barbados.gov.bb
