The Labour Department and the National Employment Bureau (NEB) are warning members of the public to beware of a fraudulent job advertisement currently being circulated on electronic and social media.

This falsified advertisement is asking persons to apply for the position of ???Sales Clerk??? at American Sporting Apparel Store, Modell???s.

It mentions the NEB and requests that persons submit National Identification and passport information, as well as an application fee of $55.

It also states that successful persons will be interviewed at the ???Sherbourne Conference Centre???. The NEB has no association with this advertisement and is urging persons not to respond, as it is linked to an identity theft scam.

The Labour Department reminds persons that the services of the NEB are free to the public, and the direct advice of an NEB officer should be sought before providing any type of information to persons or entities who claim to be prospective recruiters operating in association with that department.

For more information about legitimate job applications offered by the NEB, persons may call 310-1535 or 310-1548, or visit the website www.labour.gov.bb.
