In an effort to ensure that the work of Barbadian fashion designers is protected from outsiders, the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation (BIDC) is staging a special workshop to educate them about their intellectual property rights.

The one day seminar entitled: Protecting Your Creative Assets: Intellectual Property for Craft and Fashion Designers, will be held on Tuesday, June 30, at the Bagnall’s Point Gallery, Pelican Craft Centre, Princess Alice Highway, St. Michael, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Presenters Dr. Wendy Hollingsworth and Erica Smith of Conceptualisation Inc., will explore topics such as: Basic Intellectual Property (IP) Issues; Intellectual Property in the Craft and Fashion Sectors; Design Protection in the Digital Environment; and, Managing, Branding and Exploiting IP Assets and Sector Specific Case Studies.
