John Paul Mayers was born on May 28th, 1973. He grew up in Brittons Hill, St. Michael, Barbados with his grandmother, Cloreen Holmes.

After completing CXC examinations at the Garrison Secondary School, he moved to live with his mother Corlita Mayers in Paddock Road, St. Michael.

He studied Fine Arts with artist, Arlette St. Hill and achieved his GCE Ordinary Level Qualification.

Mr. Mayers then went on to further his studies in Fine Arts at the Barbados Community College where he gained Advanced Level Qualifications.

He returned to the Barbados Community College to further study Graphic Design and was awarded an Associate Degree in Graphic Design.??After leaving Barbados Community College, Mr. Mayers was employed at Vision Marketing Advertising Agency and later moved to Cole???s Printery where he was employed for (13) thirteen years.

He graduated from junior to senior designer and sometimes assisted with supervising and organising during this period. He also undertook a course in Supervisory Managment at the Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity (BIMAP) for which he was awarded a diploma.

Since leaving Cole???s Printery, Mr. Mayers has been self employed, developing a small business called Press Print,??where he offers design and various forms of printing including screen-printing. He has developed projects for both large and small companies in the local and international markets.

His portfolio continues to expand, however to date he rates??winning the Barbados 50th Anniversary Independence Logo Competition as his greatest achievement.
