The Tourism-In-De-Gully programme will continue on Saturday, March 21 with a guided walk through Blackman’s Gully, located in St. Joseph.

Barbadians and visitors alike will be able to discover the hidden secret of Blackman’s Gully when they trek through the area for approximately two hours, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.; taking in its flora and fauna while communing with nature.

The key objective by the Ministries of Tourism and the Environment is to encourage environmental stewardship and boost the eco-tourism here.

Patrons will be able to hear more about the geography and history of the gully and the usefulness of the gully ecosystem from resource persons.

Dr. Claire Durant, Head Research Associate, Shire Intellectual Property SRL, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, will discuss the medicinal value and potential of various plants in the gully. There will also be a cultural presentation that will include drama, poetry, folk songs accompanied by guitar playing and the Landship.

Participants are required to assemble at the car park at Grantley Adams Memorial School at 9:00 a.m.
