The Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic (SJPP) will benefit from two presentations to be made by the Barbados Light and Power Co. Ltd (BL&P) on Friday, January 23.

Forty memory sticks will be presented to First Year students, while student Marvo White-Jessamy, whose interest is in fashion, will receive a sponsorship cheque from the electricity company.

The memory sticks will be given to 40 students with outstanding results in Semester I of the academic year, 2014???2015, from the eight divisions at the SJPP.

The presentation to Mrs. White-Jessamy comes on the heels of her having exhibited her designs at BMEX 2014, as the SJPP showcased a number of student fashion portfolio.

As a result of her high standard of work, she was chosen by the Curvey Revolution Modeling agency, a local agency, to showcase a collection at their August 2014 show.

This was held at Barbados Beach Club, Maxwell Coast Road, Christ Church. Furthermore, as a result of the outstanding designs, Mrs. White-Jessamy was chosen to participate in another show at the Frank Collymore Hall last August.

A representative for the New York Fashion Week attended that event with a view to choosing one designer and one model to participate in their 2015 International show.??The SJPP student was selected based on her collection to attend New York City Fashion Week, to be held in February 2015.

Mrs. White-Jessamy will be accompanied by SJPP instructor, Joy Prime, facilitator of the Kingdom Fashion Show, Rykii De Jude; student, Alana Grant; as well as one other non-SJPP assistant.

The two presentations will be made by Communications Public Relations Administrator of the BL&P, Jackie Marshall-Clarke, to Principal, Hector Belle, in the SJPP???s auditorium, Wildey, St. Michael, at 9:30 a.m.
