As part of activities to mark its first anniversary, the Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority (BMCLA) will host the BMCLA Community Giveback Open House on Tuesday, January 18, at its Warren’s House Office, Warrens, St Michael.

The event which will be held 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. aims to provide assistance to persons seeking to enter the medicinal cannabis industry.

The BMCLA team will sit with individuals and discuss all procedures and provide help with completing the application process or any of the required supporting documents, including premises, operational, disposal, or security plans.

Entrance to the event is by appointment only. Persons should therefore register on the BMCLA website and click on the BMCLA’s Open House Event to book their 30-minute, one-on-one session, with the person, or persons, who can assist them based on their needs.

Persons may book with more than one person, if available, but must do so on January 18, 2022, ONLY.  If an individual is more than 10 minutes late, the appointment will automatically be cancelled as there is no place for waiting due to the COVID-19 protocols.

Representatives of the Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property Office (CAIPO) will be on hand to help with registering a business, company searches, business names and corporate filings. Additionally, the Co-Op Department will be in attendance to assist any group that wants to enter the industry as a co-operative. 

Individuals are required to wear N95 masks or double up on other-type masks. All other COVID-19 Protocols will be enforced at the Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority Office.
