The Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority (BMCLA) will be hosting its second Facebook Live Event on August 18, at 10:00 a.m. where the public can send in questions regarding the operations of a medicinal cannabis business.

BMCLA’s Communications and Public Education Specialist, Tracy Moore said, “Being prepared and staying agile are critical to keeping potential applicants on the right path towards being approved for a cannabis license(s) for business operations. Because potential applicants must be prepared, we have decided to put on a second Facebook Live event which focuses on those imperative needs for a medicinal cannabis business, including pre-application work.”

She said there was more genuine interest especially since the recent announcement of the two approved licensees with a total of nine licenses, therefore it was important to put on this event where there could be discussion on the importance of having an operational, security and start-up plan.

Moore added that while there will be time allotted for viewers to ask questions throughout the event, it was equally important that persons send in their questions prior to the event so that the BMCLA team could fully respond.

“We are urging interested persons to send their questions in early on how to start up their medicinal cannabis business like costings (outside the licensing costs) or if there are questions on setting up their operational plan, or security plan. Send them to our customer liaison officer at clo@bmcla.bb and add the hashtag #BMCLAFBLive so that we can answer those questions first and foremost live on August 18, 2022,” Ms. Moore added.
