Patrons set to attend BMEX 2019 can expect to experience several new elements that have been added to the Barbados Manufacturers’ Association’s (BMA) annual trade exhibition.

The event will officially open on Friday, June 7, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, and will climax the night of Monday, June, 10. This year’s theme is: The Rebirth of Pride and Industry.

Minister of International Business and Industry, Ronald Toppin, will officially open BMEX 2019 on Friday, June 7 at 9:30 a.m. with a brief ribbon cutting ceremony.  He is also slated to tour BMEX 2019 on Saturday, June 8, starting at 11:00 a.m.

Some of this year’s new attractions include an outdoor food court, a fitness arena and a revamped children’s zone, which not only caters to children over the age of five but also to toddlers and parents.

The Bajan Man Cave promises lots of drinks, food and activities for men, while the automotive section will feature vintage cars and rescue rigs, in addition to vehicle parts and equipment.

Fashion, visual and performing arts, mixology and music will take centre stage in the Creative Pavilion, an arts and entertainment zone that the BMA is hosting in collaboration with the Barbados Coalition of Service Industries.

Buyers from regional and international markets will also attend BMEX 2019 to scout for products and services. This initiative is being facilitated by the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation and the Caribbean Export Development Agency.

In addition, several female entrepreneurs who participated in the Caribbean Export’s Women Empowered through Export (WE-Xport) programme, will exhibit a variety of products, including sauces, condiments, natural spa products and cosmetics, fashion and accessories.
