Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has urged all boat owners to act now and secure their vessels from the water.

She made this appeal during a press conference at Government Headquarters to update the island on the approach of Tropical Storm Dorian.

Ms. Mottley said the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy and officials at the Fisheries Division had made arrangements for haul-ups to take place at Pile Bay, St. Peter, and Bay Street, St. Michael, while Port Ferdinand and Port St. Charles were prepared to take in vessels for safe harbour.

“We are asking fishermen to take the action early, so that they can bring their equipment and vessels to safety, so if there are any challenges, we are in a position to deal with it sooner rather than later,” she said.
