The Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) is reminding employers that there will be no annual PAYE reconciliation return for the income year 2019, as these returns should be filed monthly.

Manager, Communications and PR at the Authority, Carolyn Williams-Gayle, explained that from the beginning of this year, employers were required to file monthly Pay As You Earn (PAYE) returns on behalf of employees.

“The PAYE return is a monthly return which should be filed by the 15th of each month.  We are encouraging employers who have not yet filed PAYE returns for January through to November 2019, to treat with urgency the need to bring their PAYE filings up to date in TAMIS,” she stated.

“Additionally, employers should also note that they are required to include the PAYE information for all of their employees when filing, whether or not income tax has been deducted from their salaries. These monthly filings will facilitate employees being able to file their annual income tax return when it becomes available in April 2020,” Mrs. Williams-Gayle added.
