Outgoing Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil to Barbados, Mr. Luis Gilberton Seixas de Andrade bid farewell to Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Sandra Husbands.

They met recently during a courtesy call at the ministry on Culloden Road, St. Michael.

Minister Husbands thanked Mr. de Andrade for the work he did during his tour of duty and encouraged him to “take Barbados in your heart back to Brazil”.

The Brazilian Envoy said he was “very glad to have been in Barbados”.  Noting that he came from “the home of Carnival”, the Ambassador contented he found Barbadian art and culture to be “very interesting”.

He said he proposed a “carnival exchange” where a Brazilian contingent could visit Barbados during Crop Over. In addition to his appreciation for the culture, the envoy spoke about technical cooperation his nation contributed in sports.

Matters relating to deepening trade relations between the countries were also discussed. The incoming Brazilian Ambassador is expected to arrive at the end of November.
