After two years of conducting its pilot phase, the I.S.E.E. Bridge Project, which sought to reduce poverty at the household level, will come to a close on Saturday, March 21, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, at 4:30 pm.

The project, which began in 2012, is an initiative of the Ministry of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development???s National Poverty Alleviation and Reduction Programme.

The aim of the project was to break the cycle of inter-generational poverty and transform the lives of approximately 150 persons from 30 poor and vulnerable households, one from each constituency in the island.

These interventions targeted the risks presented in the areas of Employment, Income, Education, Training, Housing, Health and Nutrition and Family Dynamics.

Trained family counsellors and facilitators also visited and provided intensive psycho-social support to each household, with assistance from the Welfare Department, the National Disabilities Unit, the Bureau of Social Policy, Research and Planning and the Department of Constituency Empowerment.
