Members of the public are advised that the Bridgetown Fisheries Complex will remain closed for the remainder of the week, following the confirmation of two positive COVID-19 cases.

The market is closed for sanitisation, and all staff and personnel from the complex are advised to be tested for the viral illness, as soon as possible.

In a statement, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy emphasised that the safe protocols implemented in markets at the beginning of the year will continue to be practised.

Staff and patrons are also advised to follow the directions and advice of the COVID monitors assigned to each market, as their cooperation was critical to ensuring a safe environment was provided for all.
