The commemorative Broken Trident will continue its journey across St. Andrew this month, with stops at several churches, schools and places of business.
On Friday, September 16, the symbolic Broken Trident will be hosted by The Alleyne School, Belleplaine, from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
It will also be on display at the A. Dacosta Edwards Primary School, also in Belleplaine, on Thursday, September 29, from 8:50 a.m. to noon.
Schools and educational institutions outside St. Andrew have not been left out, with the Broken Trident visiting Parkinson Memorial Secondary on Monday, September 19, at 8:15 a.m.; St. Giles Primary on Wednesday, September 21, at 8:45 a.m.; and the Barbados Community College, on Thursday, September 22, at 8:30 a.m.
George Lamming Primary will welcome the commemorative Broken Trident on Friday, September 23, between 8:30 a.m. and noon, while Ellerslie Secondary School will have its turn on Monday, September 26, from 8:15 a.m. The Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity will play host on Thursday, September 29, from 8:00 a.m.
The symbolic Broken Trident will also have pride of place at the opening ceremony of the State of the Industry Conference on Wednesday, September 14, at Hilton Barbados Resort from 6:30 p.m.; the Greenland Farmers’ Market and Expo on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25, at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. respectively; and the Tourism Week Parade from Queen’s Park to Jubilee Gardens on Tuesday, September 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Churches in St. Andrew will also play host to the commemorative Broken Trident. The Rose of Sharon Tabernacle, White Hill, and the Shorey Village New Testament Church of God will receive the Trident on Sunday, September 18, at 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. respectively, while Hillaby Seventh-Day Adventist Church will do so on Saturday, September 24, from 8:30 a.m.
Rock Hall New Testament Church of God will host the symbolic Trident on Sunday, September 25, from 8:00 a.m., while Belleplaine Church of God will have its turn that same day from 9:00 a.m.
Since January, the commemorative Broken Trident has travelled to St. George, St. Thomas, St. Peter, Christ Church, St. James, St. John, St. Lucy and St. Michael. It will traverse all 11 parishes before it is permanently housed in a monument to be erected at the Garrison Savannah.
