The Barbados Statistical Service (BSS) will be conducting a pre-test in selected districts across Barbados as part of its preparations for the 2010 Population and Housing Census.??

According to an official from the BSS, the pre-test is designed to assist the department in finalising the data collection procedures regarding the issuing of questionnaires and data processing. ??The pre-test starts today, May 25, and continues until Saturday, May 30.

Statisticians will be in the field conducting interviews in the districts of Friendship Terrace, Green Hill, Mount Friendship and Lower Burney, St. Michael; Warners Terrace, Briar Hall and Sayes Court, Christ Church; and Salters and Parish Land, St. George.

The team will also talk to residents living in Brereton, Mangrove and Four Roads, St. Philip; Cherry Grove, St. John; Orange Hill, St. James; and Arthur Seat, St. Thomas.?? They will also collect information from householders in Lammings, St. Joseph; Hillaby and Gregg Farm, St. Andrew; French Village and Mount Brevitor, St. Peter; and Fustic Village, St. Lucy.

Members of the public are asked to cooperate with the enumerators as this would assist in the decision making process.
