A budding local artist who participated in the Black Diaspora Visual Art Symposium and Exhibition held earlier this year by the National Art Gallery Committee (NAGC), has been invited to display her work in Trinidadian and Tobago.

Twenty three year old Sheena Rose, has been invited by Trinidad artist, Christopher Cozier and architect, Sean Leonard to show her animation, "Town" at the Alice Yard Space in Woodbrook, Port-of-Spain.

Alice Yard is an experimental forum for young and emerging artists. Mr. Cozier, a guest panelist at the Black Diaspora Visual Art Symposium, first saw ???Town??? when it was shown in Bridgetown and at the Grand Salle, Central Bank.

Ms. Rose will also participate in the CARICOM Regional Advocacy Campaign Development Workshop and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Barbados Knowledge Fair Conceptualisation Workshop from May 25 to 28, in Antigua.

At these events, she will present her ideas on ???innovative multi-media, cultural, ICT and other strategies to reach the target audience.?????

Ms. Rose, who specialises in animation, is a recent graduate of the Barbados Fine Arts Studio Arts Programme at the Barbados Community College.

Since graduating, she has displayed her work at the Zemicon Gallery, the ???Sign of the Times??? digital art exhibition at the Queen???s Park Gallery and produced the animated video, ???Town??? for the Black Diaspora Visual Arts Symposium and Exhibition.

Ms. Rose???s participation in the workshops and at Alice Yard is funded in part by the UNDP and the OECS.
