The Barbados Vocational Training Board (BVTB) will be hosting an orientation ceremony, tomorrow, Wednesday, August 10, for its new trainees who will form part of Cohort 2 of the Barbados Construction Gateway Training Initiative (BCGTI).
The event takes place at the C. Lomer Alleyne Training Centre, Sayes Court, Christ Church, at 2:00 p.m.
All trainees who were accepted for courses to be conducted under the BCGTI, at the Barbados Vocational Training Board are invited to attend the Orientation Ceremony.
The Barbados Construction Gateway Training Initiative was launched on April 13, by the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, at the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute for Technology (SJPI), Wildey, St. Michael.
It aims to train 3,000 trade persons within the next year and is offering 24 courses through a partnership with the BVTB, the SJPI, the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Council and the Barbados Community College.
