The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is carrying out repairs to a number of burst mains across the island today.

According to the BWA’s Marketing Department, the Authority is conducting repairs to a six-inch pipe at St. Silas, St. James which has affected residents in the immediate surrounding area. It is also working on a 12-inch main at Windsor, St. George. The rupture has caused outages in Windsor, Campaign Castle, Brereton and Hannays.

Investigations are also under way to remedy suspected burst mains in Drax Hall, St. George and Free Hill, St. Michael.

The BWA has also announced that connection to a 10-inch main will be made at Lancaster, St. James between 3:00 and 8:00 p.m. today. This will affect customers in Westmoreland, Arch Hall, Sion Hill, Plum Tree Hill, Seaview and surrounding areas during these hours.

Water tankers will supply all affected areas. The Barbados Water Authority has apologised for these disruptions in service.??cgaskin@barbados.gov.bb
