Barbadians?? will?? have?? the?? opportunity?? to?? learn?? more about?? a?? proposed Water and Sanitation Systems Upgrade, when the?? Barbados Water Authority (BWA) hosts a Public Consultation on Wednesday, December 9, at 7:00 p.m. at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

??The session seeks to sensitise the public about the upcoming activities, which will occur as a result of the loan agreement between the Government of Barbados and the Inter American Development Bank (IDB) with respect to the Water and Sanitation Systems Upgrade for Barbados.

Dr. Janice Cumberbatch, a consultant contracted by the IDB to carry out an environmental and social analysis, as well as the BWA’s Project Manager, Mr. Charles Marville, will be addressing the session.

Members of the public will be informed about the scope of works, as well as the environmental and social analysis associated with it. Following the outline and explanation of the project, participants will also be provided with the opportunity to make comments and ask questions regarding the effect of the project on their livelihood.

All interested persons are invited to view the draft Environmental and Social Analysis on the website www.bwa.bb/projects/wssupgrade. Copies of the draft document are also available for collection from the Authority’s Customer Service Centre, Probyn Street, St. Michael.
