The Barbados Water Authority has advised that it will be carrying out a swabbing exercise in St. Lucy, on Wednesday, December 19, between 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The swabbing exercise on the 8-inch main, located between Crab Hill intersection and North Thumberland, St. Lucy, is part of the Authority’s action plan to address the ongoing problem of discoloured water that has been affecting customers in this parish.

Residents and businesses may be affected by low pressure or water outage in the following areas along Highway 1B: Content, Harrison’s Plantation Road, Crab Hill, Archers Road and surrounding areas, including Archers Bay, Grape Hall, Greenidges, Cluffs, and Roaches, and along Highway 1C: Bright Hall, Hope Road, Springer Road, Connell Town, Retreat Road, Flatfield, Higginson Road, North Point Gardens, North Thumberland and surrounding areas.

Customers are therefore asked to store an adequate supply of water to assist during the scheduled work.  Water tankers will also be dispatched to the affected areas.

The Barbados Water Authority apologises for any inconvenience this exercise may cause.
