The Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property Office (CAIPO) continues to update the public on the development of its Corporate Registry Digitisation Project.

Under the Testing and Training Aspect of Phase 1, the new system has been rigorously tested to ensure compliance with CAIPO’s internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

However, some challenges and technical issues were encountered.  CAIPO is, therefore, working with the system developer to ensure that these unforeseen hurdles are rectified.

Under this phase, user acceptance testing and staff training have already been done. On completion, persons will be able to register business names, incorporate companies and complete the entire process from filing of documents to the issuance of certificates online from the comfort of their home or office.

The second phase of the project, which is scheduled to be implemented in 2022, will include all other post incorporation or registration processes such as amalgamations, amendments, dissolutions and revivals.

The website will also be more interactive, dynamic and user friendly as it will feature instructional videos and help desk services to assist the public in using CAIPO’s new digitise system.

CAIPO remains committed to a successful “go live” of its new digital platform, and is appreciative of the public’s continued support and patience while the lingering issues are being resolved.
