(FP)

Government is looking for committed and responsible individuals to assist with assessing damage to the country in the wake of a disaster.

Damage assessors are required to collect information after the all-clear has been given in the initial damage assessment phase.

To do so, assessors will be assigned to areas across the country and will be required to know the areas intimately, so they can canvass for damage after a disaster.

Interested persons are encouraged to contact Senior Statistician in the Social Demographic Statistics Division of the Barbados Statistical Service, Tameshia White, at 535-2600.

While map reading skills are an asset, persons will be trained in this area during the three-day training session, which will be provided for all interested persons 18 years and over.

Classroom and field training will be provided.
