Thirteen cadets from Quebec, Canada, will spend their Easter holiday in Barbados, at the invitation of the Barbados Cadet Corps (BCC).

The week-long trip will commence on Thursday, April 1, with a "Meet and Greet" session at the Paragon Base Camp Site at 8:00 p.m. It will be attended by Canadian High Commissioner, Ruth Archibald.

Two days later on Saturday, April 3, the cadets will be hosted by the Barbados Sea Cadets during a visit to the Coast Guard Base, HMBS Pelican, at 10:30 a.m. Head of the Cadet Corps in Canada, Colonel Craig Fletcher, will join the group on Sunday, April 4.

They will tour the recently renovated Harrison’s Cave on Monday, April 5, at 9:30 a.m. During a presentation by the BCC and the Barbados Defence Force, at 11:30 a.m. the following day, Colonel Fletcher will address the topic: "The Relationship between BCC and the Directorate of Cadets, Canada". The event will be held at the Cadet Headquarters, Cherry Tree Cottage, Garrison, St. Michael.

Other activities on the programme include an island tour, a picnic at Farley Hill National Park, an underwater tour on board the Atlantis Submarine, and a hike from Cherry Tree Hill in St. Peter to Barclays Park in St. Andrew.

The closing ceremony for the visit will be held on Thursday, April 8, at the Paragon Base at 10:00 a.m. Colonel Fletcher is expected to address his charges and other local cadets at that event.
