The Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic (SJPP) is set to host a team from Sault College, Canada to aid in the development of the SJPP???s curriculum in renewable energy.??The team will visit the Wildey institution from Monday, April 28.

As part of the process, Sault College will conduct a manpower survey and liaise with subject matter specialists and industry partners. They will also sign a memorandum of understanding with that institution on Wednesday, April 30, during a media launch at 10:00 a.m.

The launch will be addressed by Chief Education Officer, Laurie King; Chairman of the Board of the SJPP, Desmond Browne; Principal of the SJPP, Hector Belle and President, Sault College, Dr. Ron Common.

The SJPP???s partnership has been formed under the Caribbean Education for Employment (C-EFE) progamme. Saulte College, located in Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, is the country???s most highly recognised training institution in the field of renewable energy.

It is expected that the relationship will see the Polytechnic strengthening the capacity of its staff to manage and deliver demand-driven, learner-centred competency-based education to allow students to achieve Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) in renewable energy.
