In a continuing effort to ensure proper treatment and care is meted out to the canine population on the island, the Animal Control Centre has developed its first Canine Care and Welfare course to be introduced this August.

A seven-module programme, it will be done in association with the Ministry of Health, the Barbados Community College (BCC) and the Barbados Veterinary Association. It will be certified by the BCC.

The course targets animal control personnel, dog owners and members of the public interested in factors impacting on health and welfare of these animals.

The deadline for registration is Friday, July 15.

For further information, members of the public may contact the Animal Control Officer, Curtis Thompson, at the Centre located at the Lazaretto Compound, Lower Black Rock, St. Michael at 425-5559.
