The Barbados arm of the Caribbean Area Network for Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education (CANQATE), is inviting a cross section of persons who are interested in quality assurance and quality enhancement to join its Core Group.

According to the Barbados Accreditation Council (BAC), eligible applicants are "post-secondary or tertiary education and training providers, professional bodies and other organisations, groups and individuals interested in quality assurance and quality enhancement."

The primary goal of the CANQATE Core Group will be to promote a "Quality Culture" in tertiary education in Barbados.??It will meet at least once a quarter and is expected to organise pertinent activities and quality assurance issues within each country and engage in membership drives.

CANQATE was established as a sub-network of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) and is designed to "enable members to share information and to disseminate good practices in the field of Quality Assurance".

The current chairperson of CANQATE is Professor Vivienne Roberts, Deputy Principal of the University of the West Indies’ Open Campus, while the secretary is Bibi Selman, Assistant to the Campus Quality Assurance Officer at the Cave Hill Campus.
