The Wesley Hall Junior School will host its first career showcase at the King Street, St. Michael institution on Friday, May 27.

It forms part of the school???s activities in celebration of Barbados’ 50th Anniversary of Independence, and will be held under the theme: Pride and Industry: Productivity is Everyone’s Responsibility.

The event starts at 10:00 a.m., and will be addressed by Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Senator Harcourt Husbands, and Principal Herbert Gittens.

The Barbados Fire Service, The Royal Barbados Police Force, the Ministry of Health and the Barbados Public Workers??? Cooperative Credit Union will be among the organisations displaying occupations. There will also be presentations from sound engineers, as well as the Copyright Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

Class Four teacher and coordinator of the career showcase, Sherry Williams, said its aim is to ???inculcate, from young, positive attitudes and values towards work and productivity???. She added that this was in keeping with the need to build citizens not only for Barbados but the Caribbean and the rest of the world.

Parents and guardians, as well as other schools in the neighbourhood, are invited to attend the event.
