Third form students, selecting subject options for the Caribbean Examinations Council???s (CXC) programme of study, as well as fifth formers exploring their options, will be the focus of the Ninth National Career Showcase of the Barbados Association of Guidance Counsellors (BAGC).

The National Career Showcase 2014 entitled: Embracing the Opportunity, will run from Wednesday, February 12, to Thursday, February 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.

It is expected to have over 100 booths and see approximately 5,000 secondary school students as well as others from the tertiary institutions.

Parents have also been encouraged to visit the booths and be part of their children???s career exploration.

The opening ceremony will be held on Wednesday, February 12, from 3:30 p.m. at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC), Two Mile Hill, St. Michael.

Minister of Labour, Social Security and Human Resource Development, Senator Dr. Esther Byer Suckoo will deliver the feature address.

Additional remarks are expected to come from a representative from the Ministry of Education, the President of Barbados Association of Principals of Public Secondary Schools and City of Bridgetown (COB) Credit Union.

Key sponsors of the career showcase include the Maria Holder Memorial Trust, the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic; the Barbados Manufacturers Association; Barbados Port Authority; Caribbean Development Bank, the Ministry of Labour and the Student Revolving Loan Fund.
