Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley is of the view that Caribbean countries need to share more information among themselves.

Ms. Mottley made the comments on Monday evening as she delivered remarks during the opening ceremony of the 65th Meeting of the Organisation of the Eastern Caribbean States’ (OECS) Authority, in St. Lucia.

The Prime Minister said sometimes she had to resort to the use of YouTube to find out what was happening in Castries or Kingstown, or any other part of the Eastern Caribbean.

“It is not good enough,” she stated, adding that there was a need for cooperation, particularly now since there was access to technology to upload and download the relevant news.

“When we start to share information with each other, then we realise how we are confronting the same issues and that many of the things that are being viewed as partisan political activity can be appropriately put in context when people realise the challenges are similar and the options equally are just as similar,” Prime Minister Mottley pointed out.

The OECS’ Authority meeting, which ends today, was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Dr. Jerome Walcott.
