Caribbean Nutrition Day will be celebrated next Tuesday, June 1, and Barbadians are being encouraged to adopt healthy eating habits and practice a more active lifestyle.

An initiative of the National Nutrition Centre, in collaboration with the Caribbean Food and Nutrition Institute, Caribbean Nutrition Day is designed to sensitise persons to the benefits of physical activity to the body.

Under the theme ???Healthy Eating and Active Living: Steps to Health’, persons are being encouraged to take 10,000 steps or more each day, and utilise stairs, as opposed to elevators.

The public is being urged to celebrate this regional initiative and to help spread the word about the importance of healthy eating and maintaining active lifestyles.
