Come tomorrow, Thursday, March 17, Barbados and the rest of the region will participate in the tsunami early warning exercise, Caribe Wave 16.
The purpose of the test is to identify possible weaknesses in the Tsunami and other Coastal Hazards Warning System for the Caribbean and adjacent regions.
It will also test the effectiveness of early warning provisions involving those responsible for the management of emergencies in the region, including national Tsunami Warning Focal Points, weather forecast centres, national coast guard services and emergency relief services.
Caribe Wave 16 will be held at the All Season Europa Resort, Palm Avenue, Sunset Crest, St James, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
