Over the next three days, a CARICOM change facilitation team will be in Barbados for a series of meetings to examine the outline of the Strategic Plan for CARICOM 2014 – 2019.

According to Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM, Robert Morris, this island is one of the pilot countries for the consultation process which was agreed upon at a meeting last month in Trinidad and Tobago.?? ????Areas to be addressed will be the vision, mission and core values of the CARICOM Community, priority areas for the attention of the community in the period 2014 – 2019 and modes of implementation to ensure results.

The series of in-country consultations will take place with several stakeholder groups from tomorrow, Wednesday, June 5, to Friday, June 7.?? These include meetings with Prime Minister of Barbados, Freundel Stuart, Members of Parliament, Representatives of Business, Labour, Youth and other Civil Society Groups, the Media, Regional Organisations and CARICOM Regional Institutions headquartered on the island.
