Barbadian athletes returning from this year???s 2015 CARIFTA Games in St. Kitts have come in for high praise for their stellar performance from Minister with responsibility for Sports, Stephen Lashley.

The Barbadian team, which arrived on Tuesday night, was greeted in the Arrivals Hall of the Grantley Adams International Airport by Mr. Lashley, other Ministry officials, friends, family members and scores of fans.

Expressing his support for the returning team, the Minister stated: ???I want to specially congratulate those who got medals???but most importantly I want to congratulate you as a team, because I know you were fighting as a team in St. Kitts.???

Mr. Lashley made sure to highlight how team work would have added to the group???s several triumphs. ???All of you would have contributed to the victory and the great performance that Barbados secured in St. Kitts,??? he emphasised.

The Minister acknowledged the need for more ???tangible??? support of local athletes, and assured those gathered that ???we will continue to support our athletes???.??The team returned from St. Kitts with 16 medals; seven gold medals; five silver medals and four bronze medals.
