The Celebrity Cultural Tourism initiative has not only done a lot to highlight Crop Over, but also to place Barbados on the international stage.

This view was expressed recently by Minister of Culture, Stephen Lashley, while addressing a welcome party at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex for international supermodel Jourdan Dunn and other celebrities visiting the island to participate in the festival.

The event, which was coordinated by the Crop Over band Fantasy Barbados, also sought to raise awareness about and support for the HIV Food Bank.

Describing the celebrity cultural tourism project, which is spearheaded by Fantasy Barbados, as ???a wonderful partnership opportunity??? and ???a very important aspect of our cultural industries thrust???, Mr. Lashley added: ???Engaging with entrepreneurs such as Amanda Reifer and her team is key to creating the framework and the opportunity to allow for this very dynamic industry to take hold.???

The Minister extended an invitation to Ms. Dunn, who was accompanied by fellow models Sessilee Lopez and Sigail Currie, to return to Barbados.
