Celebrating the Champion in You is the theme of an art competition for children aged seven to 18 being organized by the Child Care Board, as part of its Child Month activities.

In the seven to 11 and 12 to 15 categories, entries in drawing/mixed media should be in coloured pencil, pencil, oil and chalk pastel or pen and ink and should be submitted on paper sized 12 x 9 up to 11.7 x 16.5.

In the 16 to 18 category, painting/mixed media entries should be in oil, water colours or acrylic, and should be submitted on canvas/canvas board sized 12 x 16 up to 14 x 18.

The name and age of the entrant, as well as the name of the school he or she attends, should be submitted with the art work, which must have the name or signature of the artist in the bottom right hand side of the paper.

Only one entry is permitted by each child, whose art work must be original and be the individual effort of the child. No computer drawings, photographs, wires and other 3D objects will be accepted.

Entries must be submitted to the Child Care Board, Fred Edghill Building, Cheapside, St. Michael, by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17.

Prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third places in each category, and the winners will be announced on Monday, July 1.
