Hundreds of armed and unarmed units will demonstrate their skills and showmanship as part of this year???s Independence Day Parade on Saturday, November 30, at the historic Garrison Savannah, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Following the parade, troops will march to The City and traverse the length of Bay Street, cross through the Independence Arch and over the Chamberlain Bridge, and march to Heroes Square between the Cenotaph and the statue of Lord Nelson.

They will then do a series of right turns, first onto Broad Street, then onto Bridge Street, cross over the Charles Duncan O???Neal Bridge and turn right onto Fairchild Street adjacent to Independence Square where the armed detachments will be dismissed.

Meanwhile, the unarmed units will continue on to Probyn Street for their dismissal in the area of the Bridgetown Fire station. Units on parade will be: the Barbados Defence Force (BDF), the Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF), the Barbados Cadet Corps, the Barbados Boys Scouts Association, the St. John???s Ambulance Brigade, the Barbados Red Cross, the National Conservation Commission, the Barbados Fire Service, the Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme, the Barbados Prison Service, Government Security Guards Service, the Barbados Landship Association, the Girl Guides Association and the Barbados Youth Service.

Detachments from the Barbados Legion, the Mounted Troupe of the RBPF, the mass bands of the BDF, the Barbados Cadet Corps and the visiting British Royal Navy frigate HMS LANCASTER will be part of the celebratory parade.
