Children will get a chance to colour their world for the better, with the 2011 Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Children’s Environmental Poster Competition.

Entrants are being invited to select a topic of their choice which promotes environmental awareness and submit a poster that depicts at least three ways in which the contestant’s destination can make a difference in preserving the environment.

Posters may be in colour, black and white, or can be a collage, using any medium.?? Entries will be judged on creativity, relevance to theme, content and quality of the presentation.?? In addition, a title and a summary description (in English) of the entry must accompany the poster, which should be on standard size 22" by 28" poster or bristol board.?? Words 9in English) may be used to highlight the ideas illustrated.

Each entry must be submitted along with the competitor’s name, school, country, date of birth, address and telephone number.?? The school’s address, telephone number and the principal’s name should also be included.

The contest will be conducted in two age categories.?? The Junior Division will feature the work of children ages 12 and under (who have not passed their 13th birthday by March 12, 2011), while the Senior Division will showcase the art of children ages 13 to 16 (who have not passed their 17th birthday by March 12, 2011).?? There will be three rounds of competition, which will end with the notification of the winners by Monday, February 14, 2011.

First, second and third place winners in both divisions, and their schools, will be awarded US$3,000, US$1,500 and US$1,000 respectively.??

In addition, first place winners and their classmates will receive an invitation to an exclusive event in their home country.?? The deadline for entries is Monday, January 10, 2011.
