Maintaining strong diplomatic ties and strengthening cooperation as it relates to entrepreneurship were among the areas discussed when Chinese Ambassador, Wei Qiang, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Freundel Stuart.

During the meeting at Government Headquarters on Bay Street today, Ambassador Wei expressed satisfaction with the relationship between both sides as it related to collaboration on important issues.

Noting that Barbados and China had developed a harmonious bilateral agenda over the years, the diplomat asserted: "China stands ready to develop a stronger technical and economic relationship with Barbados, through the provision of concessionary loans for suitable projects."

The Chinese Ambassador also pledged to assist with the development of the island’s agriculture sector and urged entrepreneurs to see China as a viable export market.

In turn, Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, said he looked forward to the further strengthening of diplomatic ties with the Asian nation and expressed his commitment to the existing One China Policy.
