Residents of Christ Church are being encouraged to participate in the several activities the Parish Independence Committee and its partners will be staging during the month of April.

A service will be held at Elim Pentecostal Church, Bright Hill, St. Patrick, Christ Church, on Sunday, April 1, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Oistins Festival will be held from Saturday, April 7, to Monday, April 9, and a karaoke lime will follow on Thursday, April 12, at Oistins Bay Gardens, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The Look fashion show by Mystical Touch Modelling Agency will be held at the Barbados Museum and Historical Society on Sunday, April 15, starting at 7:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m., Sir Henry Forde will deliver the lecture Treasures of Christ Church at the St. Matthias Church Hall. It will be in honour of Madam Ifill, who was devoted to assisting the less fortunate children within the community.

There will be a family fun day entitled Day of Love at Divi Southwinds Resort, St. Lawrence, on Sunday, April 22, beginning at noon. Some of the less fortunate children in the community will be invited to participate in the activities.

The curtain comes down on the events on Sunday, April 29, when the Wat-Uh-Ting talent contest comes off at Divi Southwinds Resort, starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets will be $5 for adults and $3 for children.

There will be guest performances during the night and the best talent in Christ Church will compete for the top five positions in the zonal competition. The top performer will participate in the Community Independence Celebrations Secretariat’s Spirit of the Nation Show in November.
