Work with the church to strengthen government, communities and individuals!

This advice has come from Archbishop, the Most Reverend Nicola Girasoli, the new Apostolic Nuncio to Barbados, as he paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean at her ministry’s headquarters recently.

Stating that he was impressed with Barbados, the religious envoy said he was pleased to see that the church worked in partnership with government to serve this country’s citizens regardless of their religious affiliation.

In welcoming the Archbishop to this country, Minister McClean pointed out that despite the small number of Roman Catholics residing in Barbados, "they have managed to maintain a strong Catholic culture and community.

"Barbados has a mix of denominations, but we shouldn’t allow these to divide us. We are all one country," she stressed, further adding, "We work together to resolve our socio-economic issues and Government has strong support from the religious communities on the island."

Archbishop Girasoli will be based in Trinidad.
