The Warrens Polyclinic now has some much needed equipment!

President and CEO of CIBC, Frank Shaughnessy donated the medical equipment to the Warrens Polyclinic, during a ceremony yesterday.

In his remarks, Mr. Shaughnessy said: "We’re part of the CIBC group… and our parent bank and the entire company have always taken pride in giving back to the communities where we work and live. Our office is immediately across the street, that’s what led us to come to this clinic and try and find what could be beneficial for the residents of the area and for the staff to do a better job. We consulted with them and determined which equipment would aid them and we’re quite proud to be part of the community and be able to assist."

The list of equipment donated included a Chiropody chair to aid with the application of dressings, a Fetal Doppler and a Vital Signs machine, which efficiently presents the patient’s blood pressure, oxygen saturation, pulse rate and temperature at the same time.

Following the presentation, Medical Officer of Health for the Warrens Polyclinic, Heather Harewood said the donation would "help us to make a better clinical judgment about which patients we can stabilise, as opposed to which patient needs a more urgent transfer to A & E".
