The Cultural Industries Development Authority (CIDA) is inviting all cultural entrepreneurs to participate in its Pitch Programme.

The programme, which equips cultural entrepreneurs with the basic skills needed to attract investors, will run from Monday, October 17, to Thursday, October 20, with a final session on Tuesday, October 25.

It was created in response to findings which indicated that investors were often approached by cultural industries practitioners who lacked the key skills needed when pitching.

This often resulted in several cultural businesses missing the opportunity for investment, which could have impacted positively on their development and on the cultural industries in general.

The last programme, which ran from February 22 to 26, saw several cultural businesses being given the opportunity to pitch to leading organisations.

Participants discussed topics such as Essentials of Pitching; Product Readiness; What Financial Investors Want To Hear; Telling Your Story In Pitching; and How to Build Your Pitch Deck.

Interested cultural practitioners should call Ramona Grandison at 621-2700 ext. 757, or email ramona.grandison@cidabarbados.org for more information.
